Sacred Scriptures' Social Message Into Living Experience

De Paul SSSMILE Village, Vettikuzhy St. Mathew's Gospel 25/40 we see like this "In as much as you did it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye did it unto me." The idea of De Paul SSSMILE Village is to realize the social message revealed in the Holy Scripture in our life experiences. It is a place for all of them to grow up in a family atmosphere and live as children of God. The English word smile has three S letters in front of it. Its full form is as follows; Sacred Scriptures' Social Message into Living Experience. De Paul SSSMILE Village homes are not orphanages. It is the hope of the unfortunate and less privileged. If until here they all had in common sorrows, tears and destitution, today their common stamp; Just an innocent satisfied smile on their lips. The SSSMILE Village is a great gift given by the Vincentian Congregation to the Church on the occasion of the Great Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church. It is a humble initiative of the Vincentian Congregation. The idea of ​​De Paul SSSMILE Village was conceived by Rev Fr Antony Plackal VC, while he served as the superior general of the congregation. Its construction activities were led by Fr. Joseph Kuzhippala VC and Fr Mathew Vattakuzhi VC was appointed as the first director of the De Paul SSSMILE Village. Then until 2019, Rev Fr Antony Plackal VC and Fr Jomon Karottukizhakkel VC from 2019 to 2022 served as the Directors of SSSMILE Village. At present Rev Fr Antony Plackal VC is the Secretary, Fr Philip Kattakayam VC is the Asst. Director & Finance Officer and Fr Joji (Sebastian) Kanjookaran VC is the Director & Superior of SSSMILE Village. The services of the village have been led from the beginning by dedicated sisters of the Sisters of Mercy community which was formed here. Their great field of ministry is to remain as mothers in every home and take care of their children with the greatest care and compassion. There are three houses in the men's section and 4 houses in the women's section, all together 80 people live here in seven houses. Many houses are in one place for all the poorest of the poor. We make up an atmosphere for them to experience the love and companionship they get in a family, for mental, physical and spiritual well-being. A village where the circumstances are so smiling. Here many good wills are helping the poor. Many people come here and do different kinds of services. Thus by accepting the help of good hearts, De Paul SSSMILE Village stands for the poor.
